A payroll period generates its entries in one click from completed visits, payable travel time, and the recurring items you set per caregiver. Each caregiver's entries are reviewed with hours-times-rate breakdowns and totals, so what you approve is what gets paid.
- Travel entries carry minutes and distance, marked payable, and flow into payroll on their own.
- Recurring allowances, deductions, and reimbursements apply per caregiver with effective windows; ending the window stops the money.
- With the optional billing gate on, payroll picks up only verified visits, and generating over unverified work warns before any money moves.

Overlaps refused at creation
Two periods can never cover the same day, boundary days included, and a database constraint backstops even two coordinators generating at the same moment.
Locks that mean it
Reviewed periods become immutable for export and payment. Open periods can be deleted; locked ones are permanent history, so what went to the bank stays what went to the bank.
Carry-forward, automatically
A visit completed or corrected after its period locked is picked up by the next open period, labeled carried forward. Late punches are never lost, and paid history is never reopened to catch them.
Evidence protected
Travel entries paid by a locked period cannot be edited or deleted, in-use payroll items cannot vanish, and a locked period whose paid visit is later corrected shows an Adjust badge pointing at a next-period one-off.

The payroll period detail and the caregiver timesheet download as styled Excel workbooks: agency letterhead, frozen headers, per-caregiver subtotals, and color-coded exception rows. Hand them over as they are, no afternoon of cleanup first.
The caregiver-hours report keeps the plan-versus-actual view alongside: shifts, scheduled against punched hours, completed and missed counts per caregiver, exportable and bounded by date range like every report. Invoicing has its own page, built on the same verified visits.
